Asim Basu’s Indian Contemporary Bronzes

Born in 1947, Indian sculptor Asim Basu completed his schooling in art from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata in 1970. He has participated in several group shows and annual exhibitions since 1971. He lives and works in Kolkata.

Asim Basu gives shape to contemporary imaginations blended with mundane reality in his metal sculptures. He develops a narrative tale against abstraction is his works which stirs a sense of liveliness and dynamism, thus inviting the viewers for not just a visual impact but to feel the essence of existence and being alive.
